Long term goals: retard aging of skin, improve eyesight, improve digestion, solve known calcifications
Day 1 (yesterday) Mentally ready for a long fast, either on water or with a minimum of juices to keep going. It does not matter what people will say, I know the benefits. I know I am going to be very thin, because to start out I am not overweight (59 kg at 170 cm!)
First day yesterday was easy. Empty, but not hungry, and not tempted by food. Enjoyed 3 litres of hot water over the day because of intense thirst. This is unusual because I normally HATE drinking, and can go for days without a drop of water.
It was a very pleasant relaxed and lazy day with the children
1 glass of lemon juice, 1 glass of aloe vera juice, fresh from the garden, 1/2 cup of comfrey root juice in the evening
Terrible headache at night. Have not had headaches for may be 15 years! 2×2 cayenne capsules solved it and made me fall asleep eventually.
Day 2 57 kg, BP 110/70 Woke up very hungry and weak with a craving for grapefruit.
Food was really tempting today. Not very thirsty, but had about 2.5 liter of hot water to keep the hunger at bay. Expect that will be better tomorrow! Quite weak when walking around. Little bit irritable at the end of the day.
1 cup of fresh aloe vera gel, diluted with water
200 ml of grapefruit juice in the morning.
200 ml of grapefruit juice at lunch time.

Day 3 56.7 kg Woke up early and restless, which forced me out of bed.
No problem with hunger today. Bit weak in the morning, but comfortable and stronger in the afternoon.
Pretty white tongue today. Thirsty. BM like on the previous 2 days.
Craving for celery juice. Made the juices for the family for the rest of the week.
2 cups of celery/carrot juice (about 2/3 celery), made me feel absolutely full, lost all interest in water and food after that! Did not want the carrot but with our machine it is difficult to do celery on its own.
A tiny bit of chard juice tasted overly salty.
Juice of one small naartje.

Day 4 27/5/09 56 kg. Very weak and hungry early in the morning.
Pretty white tongue. 2 cups of celery/carrot juice
Juice of 1 small lemon
200 ml grapefruit juice
This gave enough strength to take the children to school and to do the clinic (got another patient off his diabetes medication, and he is doing well! Nice job! )
Very thirsty througout the day
Had about 2000 ml distilled water
Otherwise quite comfortable
Got my daily portion of tropica sun!
No BM.

Went to bed early to get some time to read and relax!
Got a very restless sleep, with a bit of nasal mucus, and had to get up at midnight to sip 2 cups of hot water with 2 tbsp of raw organic apple cider vinegar, that was wonderful, and let me go back to sleep, after finishing all the e-mails and rereading Steve Meyerowitz’s “Juice Fasting and Detoxification” for support.
Day 5 56 kg Got up very weak (esp upper legs) and hungry and tired because of lack of sleep

are wonderfully strengthening and soooo delicious.
Overall slowing down and trying to preserve energy as much as possible, but able to do the most necessary things.
Quite heavily white-yellowish coated tongue.
Intense thirst which is not relieved by water, and my stomach loathes the water.
Scared of exercise at this time, may be that can come a bit later on.
Started deep breathing exercises to calm down and as part of the daily routine. Got mad at someone who in my perception badly offended me, but cooled down soon,thinking of the great compassion and love of the Lord Jesus for us weak creatures (despite of us offending Him much worse than we can imagine) and the offence became nothing.
1 small cup of celery/carrot juice at lunch time to recover from morning work and a tired back.
juice of 1 small lemon later on diluted in a liter of water, to help my stomach accept the water.
Calories 258. Without the juices I would not have made it this far! So although a water fast is preferred, I just have to accept it at this time.
1 cup of juice of a local prickly type of cucumber, sort of lemon like but a bit bitter, hoping it would help for the thirst.
Went bed early again to relax and read. Had a good night. a bit scared of a pounding heart and of toxins going round in the bloodstream!
Day 6 55.5 kg. Awake very early at 3.30 and eager to get out of bed.
No weakness and hunger as before!!! So decided to stay with water only today if possible.
Internal cleaning seems to go with external cleaning. We reorganised the whole house early this morning in order to be able to work more efficiently, and to give the whole team (5) more room. We never knew we could do that!
Pounding heart because of too much activity, or because of too many toxins released in the bloodstream? Had 1 capsule of cayenne in water. Settled in the afternoon with some rest. Pulse 56. BP 120/80 (used to be 100/70, or 110/70).
1 cup of fresh aloe gel blended with water
20 ml of lemon juice in the water
2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar in the water to make it more palatable.

Reread Ehret’s “Rational Fasting”. He is actually not in favor of long fasts, because they can release too many toxins which the body may not be able to eliminate.
170 ml grapefruit juice, not because of hunger but trying to quench the thirst. It actually worked very well, did not need water after that.
Off to bed early again. Had a good night.

Day 7 55 kg Woke up with a mild headache, stiff lower back, very tired and with intense thirst.
Not hungry but longing for anything which may quench the thirst. The headache went away soon after getting up.
Decided to do a colonic (succesfull), did not finish it because of intense cold, had to sit in the sun for a while to recover! It definitely did not energize. Did my shopping afterwards, but feel drained. Had to drag myself along today. Going to try if pure celery juice will quench the thirst.
Tongue still coated but much less than before

Juice of 2 small lemons to get the water down, which is increasingly difficult. Started drinking in the afternoon (despite of thirst in the morning my stomach refused). Lemon juice does help though. Discovered Dr. Albert Mosseri who seems to promote a more effective way of fasting. Will have to read his writings!
2450 ml distilled water in the afternoon, actually did feel a little better after that.
180 ml pure celery juice, in the evening, which really reduced the thirst. Had to finish a few things, so it got late with a pretty sore back. Got me frustrated, not the way to go, but these things just happen. Expecting a lady on monday to help me out, so I can have more rest.

Day 8 54.5 kg Too weary to do anything or to even go to church.
2800 ml of hot water
Celery juice 170 g with the water
Apple cider 2 tbsp with the water
Aversion to lemon juice! Tongue mildly coated white bit yellowish. Feel as if I am not passing a lot of urine. Any fluids do not touch the thirst except grapefruit juice.
Extreme weariness. Sitting in the sun in the afternoon because of cold totally drained my energy.
Celery juice 175 g with 1 tsp apple cider in hot water made a good “soup”.

Hoping the celery may help the thirst and the weariness, but it made it worse.

Beetroot juice 170 ml in the evening to provide a high sodium/low calcium drink to counteract the created imbalances. Mixed it with a little sauerkraut juice for taste, absolutely delicious!

Day 9 54 kg Woke up at 1.30 am, restless and a bit headachy. Headache soon settled after getting up. Tongue mildly coated, heavier in the afternoon.
Worked out that an excess of calcium is being released into the bloodstream (from previously known calcium deposits), which accounts for all the symptoms of intolerable thirst (despite of adequate intake of water), the low muscle tone, muscle weakness and prostration. This also explains the exacerbation by the sun yesterday, by the lemon/grapefruit/apple cider additions (which dissolve calcium), and by the celery (too much calcium, although it was meant to provide sodium to keep calcium dissolved). It is impossible to continue like this.
Plan:
First get the calcium level down, then work on a slower detox program!
1 No more lemon juice, grapefruit juice, apple cider to slow the release of calcium into the blood stream
2 Provide high sodium/low calcium drinks to keep the calcium dissolved. The only options I know of are beetroot juice and carrot juice.
4 Add silicon to enhance assimilation or elimination of calcium (Calc-Tea!)
5 Start a proper cleanse of bowel, kidneys, liver and blood. Biggest disadvantage here is lack of stuff to help the bowels. Later realised that this is not an option with a fast, so dropped this one.
6 Considering the half-fast of Albert Mosseri
170 ml grapefruit juice early in the morning, merely for the thirst
3 cups of Calc-Tea for silicon really worked to pick me up and enable me to continue
2250 distilled water, not able to take any more despite of intolerable thirst, so continued with some juice
Solidago tincture x2 for the kidneys, but decided to stop this after reading Mosseri.
1 cup of beet-cucumber-sauerkraut juice at lunchtime, not for hunger, merely for the thirst
1 cup of beet-sauerkraut juice again for thirst and to provide sodium for detox, and sooooo delicious!
100 ml grapefruit juice in the evening by sucking on a grapefruit to lessen the thirst

Day 10 53.5 kg Had a good night’s sleep. Woke up early at 4 am, a bit headachy but it went away even before getting up, one hour later than usual. Small BM during the night.
Feel strong enough to continue. The weakness is now managable, the thirst is also a bit better. Tongue very mildly coated. According to Mosseri rest is essential, but what can you do as a mother. For me this is the only way to get some serious detox done, so will accept the circumstances and make the best of it. We employed a lady to run the garden, which helps me tremendously to relax, no more worries about the garden! And getting time to read Shelton/Mosseri etc., wonderful stuff, gained so much understanding.

1 cup of beetroot juice with added sauerkraut juice for taste. this is going to be my favorite drink!!!!
150 ml of grapefruit juice
60 ml juice of 1/2 grapefruit in the evening. Did not even want more, and this one (from the garden) proved a bit too acid, obviously no ripe enough, as it gave a mild pricking discomfort in my stomach.

The thirst was more tolerable today. So it was not too difficult to get the water down.
On the other hand, the weakness was more pronounced, but still managable.
Tongue remains white-yellowish coated.
Day 11 53 kg Still loosing a pound per day which shows good elimination!
Pretty weak today, had to cancel the clinic. I think doctors have also rights to treat themselves ![]()
Had difficulty peeling the butternut!
Thirst seems managable.
Striking is the loss of interest in all food since yesterday. Feel very comfortable without!
Wonder if elimination is still as strong.
Trying to get as much rest as possible.

Made a wonderful discovery today. My eyesight has miraculously improved!!! This was one of my goals but never took the effort to check, because did not think the fast would work that fast!!! I can now read very small print effortless at normal distance with my ordinary glasses for nearsightedness (since age of 6). The last 5-10 years or so I could only read them after taking my glasses off (which is the equivalent of using reading glasses for most people). Also ordinary reading became increasingly difficult, and recently even large print has been a problem unless I take my glasses off. I could not believe my eyes today when someone gave me a parcel with very small print, and could read it effortlessly with my usual glasses. Then checked a bottle with very small print, and same thing. Only still needs good light, but no doubt that will also improve. This is really exciting! At least some reward for all the efforts, and it also proves that it is possible to eliminate even despite the lack of total rest.
I also noticed an increased sense of taste and smell, which is common in most fasters. Strange enough, a certain pleasant fragrance passes by now and then which belongs to a certain powder used long ago. There is nothing like that in the house now, so it must be substances being eliminated through the skin. Amazing!
Day 12 52.9 kg Had a good night. Routine is going to bed very early and then read for a while.
Dreamed about packets of figs all over the house, and eating one very delicious fig. Good they are not in the house, I would not be able to resist the temptation!
Weight is stabilizing, which means the body needs more nutrients for elimination. So this means passing on to the second stage where the body uses transmutation to get the necessary substances needed. This agrees with Mosseri’s observations of stabilization of weight loss after 10-12 days.
Tongue also less coated than before and the thirst is managable. All indicators of elimination slowing down.
Grapefruits out of stock, so continued to flavor the water with lemon juice.
Sore back after shopping and going to the nursery to get some herbs and celery seedlings for the garden.
Need rest now!

Day 13 53 kg. Enjoyed a good night (standard these days is 9 hours of sleep!)
Second day of stabilization of weight. All goes according to the books. Confident to continue. Getting pretty thin, to the point that people start looking at me. Not nice, but why should I not be allowed to treat myself?
The benefits eventually will far outweigh the few weeks of discomfort! We human beings are always clinging to food with so much unnecessary fear that if we would skip one or few meals we will starve to death. This fast is really good to realize that food is not everything.
Had a small sip of orange juice made for the girls. It tasted overly sweet, not my choice at the moment!

Day 14 52.5 kg Had 9 hours of peaceful sleep. Glad to see that elimination is continuing. Soo glad to have a supporting husband, who knows the advantages of fasting! He reports very unpleasant odor of breath especially in the mornings. He says this has not changed yet. Tongue remains white-yellowish coated. Pretty shaky after getting up. Not very thirsty. Pulse remains stable throughout the fast at 60. BP 95/70 Bloodglucose 3.5 mmol/l
Today should be a quiet day at home. No more sun for me. Had a beautiful batch of plantain from the garden, so could not resist to process it for ointment.

Resting in the afternoon, while guiding the girls though various exercises. So this worked well for all parties involved!
Day 15 Sunday 52.5 kg disappointing. Very early in the morning a beautiful smooth BM. Still extremely dry and painfully cracked lips. Dreamed about a heaped plate of steamed fish in a restaurant and asking for a second serving! Put butter and salt the second time, although I was not sure if the butter was safe.
Lassitude undiminished. Got a nice few hours of rest and a beautiful time to remember the compassion and love of our Saviour, who has come to rescue us from our deeply fallen state of misery and sin.
LOVE the lemon juice as it soothes the dry tongue and the stomach.
Probably need more minerals to continue elimination. Will wait another day or two to see.
Had a tiny little of the salad (but spit the fiber out), just to taste, for the family, which was delicious.
Salads are quite tempting!
Annoying nasal mucus this day.

Day 16 51.5 kg! So elimination back in full swing. This proves to me that rest indeed helps elimination! Had a good sleep, longer than usual. Lying on the side becomes uncomfortable because there is no more fat to cushion! And lying on the back has been impossible for many and many years. Saw yellow spots early in the morning but later they disappeared. No sensitivity for light yet. Not hungry. It is heavy going because of the weakness, but still determined to continue.
Left thumb playing up today with the cold (old old problem)
1750 ml of distilled water with lemon juice, which was extremely hard to get down. Totally tired of the water and of the lemon flavored water. The only thing nice is straight lemon juice. Would vomit if I would take any more water.
Took juice of 1 orange, about 2.5 oz, but did not enjoy it, it was more or less tasteless.
Dull ache in the region of the left kidney.
Slight headache, not long.
The fast is becoming too heavy, I can’t see how I can continue any longer, it is difficult to cope with the weakness and bed rest is not possible.

Day 17 51.5 kg. Weak in the morning like usual. Pulse 68. Total aversion to water and lemon juice.
Hardly thirsty today. I feel there is depletion of nutrients which are needed to help eliminate.
Juice of 1 small orange which gave me enough strength to continue, this one had a better taste than yesterday night. Racing heart after the orange, pulse went up to 96!!! Looks like oranges are not for me.

Few grapes, which was a birthday treat for one of the family!
Craving for
2 cups of tomato-celery juice with a tsp of apple cider, sipped slowly during the afternoon and totally satisfied after that.

Had a great day today, without that terrible weakness. Feel my back though: inclined to do too much!!!

Have been pretty active today with an unbelievable amount of energy, compared to previous days! Went to bed at 23.30 pm in stead of the usual 7 pm lately.

Day 18 51.7 kg A bit short night but had a good sleep. Small BM early morning. Woke up with slight headache, which goes away after getting up. Blood glucose early in the morning 3.7 mmol/l. Pulse back to normal but gets pretty fast after getting up. We did a spring clean of the kitchen in the morning, wonderful. I can not take any more water on its own, it is not palatable and my stomach refuses.
Juice of one very small grapefruit
Had 2 cups of celery juice in the morning, diluted with distilled water. this made a nice sort of soup, wonderfully tasty, so it was easy to get the water down this way.
A bit headachy after the diluted celery juice, guess the sodium causes a bit of water retention?
BP 90-100/70.
Less painful lips. Tongue less coated early on, but heavier white-yellow coating later on.
At lunch time juice of one naartje (100 g), feel totally full.

Calories 341 (more than planned). The aim is not refeeding yet, but to continue with low calories to extend the elimination time.
This was a wonderful day, without weakness or lightheadedness!

Day 19 52 kg. Have been gaining the last 2 days with about 200 g per day. Surely this must be water retention. This way, with addition of celery and a few calories it seems very easy to continue, be it at a bit slower rate. A bit tired today, but comfortable with light duties.

100 g of banana ice cream (pure fruit) (too much temptation!), which feels like I had a huge meal.

Day 20 51.8 kg weight leveling off. Getting more hungry! Will have to make up for too many calories of yesterday.

Banana ice cream (too much temptation!), 2 x 125 g
Juice of 4 naartjes
1 soaked apricot
Avo salsa 4 tsp
Gave in to 300 g banana ice cream in the evening because of hunger, just plain hunger
Remain thirsty.
Average period of 24/5 - 8/6: 155 kcal (16 days)
Average period of 9/6-11/6: 359 kcal (3 days)
Calories today a shocking 1045!!! I knew it was going to be difficult, but thought I would be disciplined enough to limit myself.
Small hard BM late afternoon
Will have to reconsider what I am doing. Go back to water fasting? Go on the half-fast with 500 g fruit and 500 g green veggies per day? Continue refeeding? Let me sleep over it and decide tomorrow.
Day 21 52 kg Very small hard BM early morning. Less energetic than just after increasing the calories from 155 to 359. Noticed a lot of small bruises on the upper legs, without any explanation. Vitamin K intake has been 217% of RDA on average since the 9th of June.
Decided to try and continue with the half-fast of Mosseri, but replacing green fiber with vegetable juice, bc I won’t be able to handle all that fiber straight away. That would work out at less than 400 cal per day. Seems a reasonable amount to keep going.
More thirsty than hungry.
Can’t stop chewing celery (discarding the fibre). Life seems but one feast on just these few calories!
Can not understand where the energy is coming from. Able to do anything but avoiding strenuous
activities.
Had juice of small amounts of fruit over the day, naartje, grapefruits, grapes and pineapple.
Calories 563 and totally satisfied
Day 22 52 kg Refeeding! anxious to know the benefits of all these efforts, which may show up in the next few months? Planning to do another fast after a few months.
